We go through our lives making our marks in so many ways. Here, with brush and ink, how we manifest in the world can be seen directly. We appreciate our minds - and our lives - when we make a true stroke of the moment.
Here in the United States, many of us spend hours a day writing and responding to email.
But finding time to write -- by hand -- a thoughtful, considered personal letter, has become increasingly rare.
Over the course of this weekend, Barbara and Christian will explore both the practical and the imaginative
possibilities of letter-writing: letters to a spiritual or artistic mentor, letters to the beloved dead, letters to the word "yes,"
the color blue.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with and settle into their own handwriting,
and everyone will have the chance to write (and perhaps to illustrate) several letters for themselves.
